He was predeceased by: his parents, James Dovward Nichols and Aline Conger Nichols; and his siblings, Glenda Grizzard, Dorothy Grant, Johnny Carl Nichols, Rev. Charles Nichols and Harvey Nichols.
He is survived by: his wife Waunell Bennett Nichols of West Berrien; his children, Alicia Young, Jr. (Robert) of Athens, Rev. Garvie Nichols, Jr. (Julie) of West Berrien and Carl Nichols (DeeDee) of West Berrien; and his brothers, Kenneth Nichols of West Berrien, Henry Nichols (Tammy) of West Berrien and Calloway Nichols (Candy) of West Berrien. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lovein Funeral Home (1218 Adel Hwy, Nashville, GA 31639). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home (1218 Adel Hwy, Nashville, GA 31639).
