He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Fleetwood Marks and Thelma Purser Marks; and his brother Wendell Marks. He is survived by: his wife Pat Drawdy Marks of Nashville; his children, Lisa Goggans (James) of Barnesville, Vicky Rollins (Jay) of Culloden, Billy Marks (Cathy) of High Falls and Rodney Marks (Kathy Jo) of Molena, GA; his stepson Elliott Mathis of Tampa, FL; and his siblings, Grace Hilliard of Rhine, Janice Peters of Forsyth and Travis Marks of Alpharetta. He is also survived by five grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
