He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Carl Ray and Allie Rainey Ray; his son Darien Ray; his stepdaughter Connie Spires; his daughter-in-law Karen Spires; and his brother-in-law Zeddie Butterworth.
He is survived by: his wife Elouise Shealey Ray of Nashville; his son Dean Ray Rewis of Adel; his stepsons, Ronnie Spires of Nashville and Eric Pittman of Hahira; his grandsons, Matt Spires (Briana) of Nashville, Adam Spires (Kirbi) of Hahira and Ryan Spires (Saylor) of Valdosta; his sister Linda Butterworth of Adel; and his nephew Avery Butterworth of Adel. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
