She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Wade and Alice Kent Hodges; her husbands, Ashley NeSmith and George Allen Ray; her sister Jacqueline Hodges; and her brother-in-law Donald W. NeSmith.
She is survived by: her children, Thomas Ashley NeSmith (Chris) of Nashville, TN, Terry N. Gambill (Richard) of Warner Robins, GA and Kathy N. Varnadoe Key of Madison, WI.; her grandchildren, Rex Gambill, William A. Gambill (Charydi), Leah Varnadoe Ali (Muhammid Ali), Lori N. NeSmith and Thomas Andrew NeSmith; and her great grandchildren, Evan Gambill, Makala Ashley NeSmith, Alyssa NeSmith, Autumn NeSmith, Yasmine Ali and Sufron Ali. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and other family members.
She was also a member of the American Heart Association for many years.
