He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Irwin Whitaker and Gladys Elizabeth Wright Whitaker; his wives, Virginia Rowell Whitaker and Mary Alice Murray Whitaker; his son Samuel I Whitaker II; and his siblings, Nan Carter, Wright Whitaker and Woodard Whitaker.
He is survived by: his daughter Cynthia Erbeck of Bunnell, FL; his grandchildren, Steven Erbeck (Sequoia) of Murrieta, CA, Whitney Williams (Michael) of Martinsville, VA, Adam Erbeck of Murrieta, CA and Jesse Erbeck (Amy) of Boise, ID; his great grandchildren, Kyra Erbeck, Vienna Erbeck, Abigail Williams, Micah Williams, Hannah Williams, Ryder Erbeck, Kinsley Erbeck, Brylee Erbeck, Liam Erbeck and Aubrey Erbeck; his sisters, Betty Lindsey of Connecticut and Carlese Wood (Norris) of Connecticut; and his sister-in-law Diane Whitaker of Georgia.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home (1218 Adel Hwy, Nashville, GA 31639).
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital or the charity of choice.
