She is survived by: her sister Mary Hazel Barr; her grandchildren, Hope Mickel and Ron Thomas, Jr.; her significant other Betty Slocumb Spires of Nashville; her sons, Harold Mickel, Jr of Charleston, SC, Hal Joseph Mickel of Cochran and Donald Farris Mickel of Vienna; her stepchildren, Cynthia Claire Spires and Robert Weber Spires of Athens; her siblings, Shirley McKenzie of Brusley, LA, Lila Armstrong (Berney) of Valdosta and Fred Joseph Carlo, Jr (Ann) of Valdosta; and her daughters, Beverly Burnette of Tampa, FL, Latoya Faxon of Tampa, FL and Barbara Jackson of Tallahassee, FL.. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
