He was predeceased by: his father Richard Allchin; and his brother Richard Allchin, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Lorrie Cone Allchin of Nashville; his children, John Allchin, Jr. (Amanda) of Ray City, Kelly Gray (Clinton) of Daphne, AL and Michelle Carter (Steven) of Lake Park; his sisters, Jennie Braziel (Arthur) of Ocilla and Julie Koncz (Ronnie) of Cape Coral, FL; his grandchildren, Delaney, Haynes, Isla and Bryleigh; and his aunt Ruth Shively of Ray City. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nashville United Methodist Church.
