She was predeceased by: her parents, Carson Watson and Della Mae Powers Samples; her husband Charles Monk, Jr.; her son Irie Iston Monk, Jr.; her granddaughter Shannon Samples Lewis; and her brother Collis Watson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Doris Samples (Ronnie) of Nashville and Wanda Fannon of Nashville; her daughter-in-law Patricia Monk of Adel; and her sisters, Lou Welch (Bobby) of Nashville and Margaret Allen of Tampa, FL. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Faith Chapel or Nashville Church of God.
