He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Sumner and Lucille Ray Sumner; and his siblings, Janice Whitley, Morris Ray Sumner and Randall Sumner.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Cook Sumner of Nashville; his sons, Kevin Sumner of Nashville and Chris Sumner of Nashville; his brothers, Earl Wayne Sumner of Sparks and Bobby Sumner (Jane) of Sparks; his grandchildren, Gavin Sumner and Adalee Sumner; and his sisters-in-law, Nell Walden (Sam) of Adel and Betty Miller of Nashville.
