He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Lanier Dean and Kertis Boyd Dean; his son Scott Dean; his siblings, Karlton Dean, Charles Dean and Gloria Pearson; and his stepgrandson Miles Crews.
He is survived by: his wife Thelma Martin Dean of Atkinson; his son Bruce Dean (Debbie) of Raybon; his stepchildren, Tina, Pam, Ernie, David and Ryan; his grandchildren, Jeannie Pittman (Rodney), Amy Dean, Ellis Dean and Whitley Bowers (Brandon); his sister Ernestine Bailey of Titusville, FL.; and his sister-in-law Sherry Dean of Atkinson. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren; many step grandchildren.
