He is survived by: his wife Joanne Aspinwall Carter of Hickox; his children, Lynn Carter Studstill (Scott) of Hickox, James Clayton Carter of Hickox, Betsy Carter of Hortense and Bonnie Carter (Cody Kelly) of Waverly; his grandchildren, Derek Studstill (Jordan) of Hickox, Brooke Studstill (Byron Strickland) of Hickox, Brianna Vaughn (Stetson) of Hickox, Kaley Tucker (Jake) of Hoboken, Matthew Carter of Hickox, Joshua Carter of Hickox, Kamryn Smiley of Hortense, Eli Clayton Byrd of Waverly and Kade Kelly of Waverly; his great grandchildren, Paige Studstill, Aubry Chambers, Calan Strickland and Koen Vaughn; and his sisters, Mildred Connors (Chuck) of Hickox and Marnell Nobles (Johnny) of Macclenny, FL. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
