He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack David Whidden, Sr. and Mary Ann Whidden (Day) of Tampa Florida; and his son James Lee Whidden of Gainesville, Georgia.. He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Whidden (Lee); his son Jerry; his daughter-in-law Susan Whidden; his grandchild Morgan Whidden; his daughter-in-law Lucinda Whidden; his son Alex Whidden; his grandchild Allison Whidden of Gainesville, Georgia; his brother Roger Whidden; and his nephew Jack David Whidden III (Arden).
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) or the American Cancer Society.
