He was predeceased by: his parents, John Flanagan and Edna Cowart Flanagan; his foster mother Ona Pierce; his brothers, John Lee Flanagan and Carl "Trigger" Flanagan; his foster siblings, Ralph Pierce and Tommie Pierce; his brother-in-law Joe T. Gooch; his parents-in-law, Doc and Faye Gooch; and his sister-in-law Linda Walden.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Flanagan; his children, Becky Flanagan of Murrayville and Kevin; his grandchildren, Evan Gentry, Allyson Strickland (Jesse), Aidan Flanagan, Garrett Flanagan and Merrick Flanagan; his sister Jeannie; his brother-in-law Dallas VanScooten; his brother Jimmy; his sister-in-law Nancy Flanagan; his siblings, Ruth Andrews and Roger; his sister-in-law Margie Flanagan; his brother Ron; and his siblings-in-law, Arnold Gooch, Alma Edwards, Sue West and Wyman Walden of Dahlonega. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
