He was predeceased by: his father David Jackson Cochran; and his siblings, Dorothy Cochran, Pauline Cochran, Paul Cochran, James Cochran, Ralph Cochran of Frances Cochran, J. B and David Cochran.

He is survived by: his wife Kay Buffington Cochran of Murrayville; his children, Kari Leigh of Gainesville, Chris Kelley of Gainesville, Kandace of Gainesville and Paul Diemer of Gainesville; his grandchildren, Maelana Burke of Gainesville, Josselyn Burke of Gainesville, Desmond Diemer of Gainesville and Eliyanah Diemer of Gainesville; and his siblings, Virginia Ray of Gainesville, Leroy Cochran of Cleveland, Sam Cochran of Cleveland, Sondra Cochran-Schroeder of Augusta, Joyce Jenkins of Cleveland and Doris Mundy of Cleveland.
