He was predeceased by: his father Hoyt R. Penland. He is survived by: his mother Laura Hunnicutt Penland of Mountain City; his brother Mike; his sister-in-law Wanda Penland of Rabun Gap; his niece Sarah Penland (family: Chrissy, Chris Owenby, Emily, Jada Grace) of Alpharetta; his pets, Pearl, Ada, Zeb and Myrtice; and his uncles, Ed Hunnicutt and Buster Hunnicutt. He is also survived by niece, and her family.
