With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Van Thigpen of Mount Vernon, Georgia, who passed away on August 18, 2020 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wives, Saundra Spikes Thigpen and Sara Lou Odom Thigpen; his parents, Tilla Clifton Thigpen and Hazel Emma Morris Thigpen; and his siblings, Marilyn Wooten and Dr. Keith Thigpen.
He is survived by: his sons, Nolan Thigpen (Sabrina) of Mt. Vernon, Matt Thigpen (Tonia) of Vidalia, Jeffery Thigpen (Mindy) of Ailey and Kipp Thigpen of Savannah; his grandchildren, Hunter Hill, Ashton Thigpen, Brayden Davis, Haze Thigpen and Easton Thigpen; his sister Barbara Ward of Lyons; and his siblings-in-law, Eloise Thigpen of Vidalia and Cecil Rich (Helen) of Lyons. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
