He was predeceased by: his parents, Sally Henry Davis and John Clifford Davis, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen O'Brien Davis of Mount Vernon; his children, Tracey Davis Adams (Craig) of Vidalia, Millie Davis Whitworth (Jeff) of Weaverville, NC, Courtenay Davis Staker (Chris) of Savannah, Casey Allison (Erika) of Alpharetta and Holly Allison of Pigeon Forge, TN; his grandchildren, Campbell, Sawyer, Alex, Henry, Nell, Georgia, Christopher, Dylan and Ansley; and his siblings, Peggy Matheson of Vidalia, Emory (Marge Davis) of Vidalia, Jean (Charles Schwabe) of Swainsboro and Jane Davis of Vidalia.
