He is survived by: his children, Anthony Powell (Candace) and Joni Sanders (Josh); his brother Elmo Powell (Debbie); and his grandchildren, James Landon Powell, Hudson Sanders and Emma Grace Sanders. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
