She was predeceased by: her husband David "Ace" Azar; her stepdaughter Pamela Azar; her parents, Mitchell B. Connell and Hattie Fountain Connell; and her siblings, Oscar Connell, Austin Connell, Allen Connell, Eva Connell Coleman and Johnnie Connell Thigpen.
She is survived by: her brother Russell Connell of Mt. Vernon; and her sister-in-law Carolyn Parker of Mt. Vernon. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
