He was predeceased by: his wife Lucy Malard Dye; and his parents, Dewey D. Dye and Rosianna Elizabeth Peck Dye. He is survived by: his son David J. Dye (Jamie) of Mt. Vernon; and his grandchildren, Jodie Dye Block (Alex) of Liverpool, Kory David Dye (Elisabeth), Zoey, Madison, Riley, Charles, Ezra, Noel, Oliver and Everly.
