He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Annette Williams Canup; his son Danny Thomas Canup of William Canup; his siblings, Bob Canup of Fred Canup, Jean Canup Norton and Mary Canup Chambers Hart; and his grandson George Allen DeVerger.
He is survived by: his children, Jeanne Standridge Adams (Stanley), Brenda DeVerger (Larry) and Douglas Canup; his daughters-in-law, Sandy and Genna Canup of Mt. Airy; and his brothers, Ronnie Canup (Debra), Donnie Canup (Carolyn) and Bill Canup (Edna). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
