He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Nation and Mary Ann Collins Nation; his wife Catherine Wilson Nation; his son David Nation; his siblings, Odell, Jess, Floyd, Author Nation, Ethel Freeman, Eula Mae Price and Melvina Wheeler; and his grandson Michael Nation.
He is survived by: his daughter Marilyn Nation Sims (Garry) of Toccoa; his stepchildren, Larry Frady (Faye) of Toccoa, Douglas Frady (Wanda R.) of Toccoa and Cathy Frady Stover (Jerry) of Demorest; his sisters, Gracie Mae Cagle of Cleveland, Nancy Poole of Gillsville, Lulabell Powers of Cornelia and Annie Bell Arrowood of Cleveland; and his niece Willene Gabrels (Jorge Guillen) of Mt. Airy. He is also survived by two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, ten step grandchildren, 23 step great grandchildren and one step great-great grandchild.
