It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Louis Dodd of Mount Airy, Georgia, born in Stephens, Georgia, who passed away on November 11, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Garnett and Violet Thomas Dodd; his former wife Lorene Benfield Dodd; and his brother Phil Dodd. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Fricks Shirley Dodd of Mount Airy; his children, Wanda Hardman (Ronnie) of Toccoa, Terry Dodd (Dianne) of Commerce, Teresa Harper (Jack) of Clarkesville and Derron Dodd (Amy Falls) of Mount Airy; his stepdaughter Susan Long (Jonathan) of Auburn; and his sisters, Edna Dillard (Sam) of Westminster, SC and Mary McNulty of Gainesville. He is also survived by her father passed away; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
