He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean Talmadge Whitmire and Betty LaPrade Whitmire; his brothers, Michael Dean Whitmire and Chester McKinley "Kent" Whitmire; and his father-in-law Warren "Pastor Butch" Nichols.
He is survived by: his wife Caprice Whitmire of Mt. Airy; his daughters, Amanda DuBois of Alto and Brittany; his daughter-in-law Sabrina Barrett of Mt. Airy; his grandchildren, Emily DuBois, James Barrett and Barbara Barrett; his mother-in-law Shirley Nichols of Alto; and his siblings-in-law, Stacy and Melissa Nichols of Winamac, IN. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
