She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Perry Wilder, Sr. and Thelma Herndon Wilder; her grandson Jeremy Paul Byers; and her siblings, Walter P. Wilder, Jr., Thomas J. Wilder, Darrell E. Wilder, Melvin J. Wilder and Lynda Wilder.
She is survived by: her husband Jerry Byers of Mount Airy; her daughter Sonia Byers Henson; her son-in-law Barry Henson of Blairsville; her sons, Matthew Joel Byers of Mount Airy and Gregory David Byers; her daughter-in-law Terri Byers of Clarkesville; her sisters, Joyce Warner of Monticello and Joan Waters of Stockbridge; and her grandchildren, Edward (Vanessa Henson), Holly (Joel Borbon), Jordan (Ashley Byers), Stephanie (Mitchell Jackson), Nathan Byers (Camila Rodriguez) and Erin (Dawson Fricks). She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 24th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Whitfield Funeral Home and Crematory- North Chapel (245 US-441, Baldwin, GA 30535). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 24th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, November 24th 2024 at the Yonah Memorial Gardens (255 Central Ave, Demorest, GA 30535).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church Building Fund, 2175 Antioch Church Road, Mount Airy, Georgia 30563.
