Branch of Brooks County, Sarah Braddy Gardner and Zollie C. Gardner of Coolidge; her brother Doyle Russell Gardner; her sister-in-law Rosalind Monk Lastinger (Truman) of Georgia; her husband David Monk of Moultrie; her former husband Jay T. Russell of Berlin; her stepchildren, Jennifer E. Monk Rainey (Skip), Arthur Harrison Monk (Kathie) and Alison Monk Peterman (Richard) of Valdosta, GA.; her grandchildren, Ashley Rainey Cox (Brad), Lauren Rainey Tenney (Spencer), Mariah Monk Carraway (Josh), B. Gwen Monk, A'leah J. Monk, Kalan Jones (Melissa), Tristan Peterman (Dustin) and Joely Peterman Coker (Nicholas); and also Theresa G. Schmid of Arkansas. She was also cherished by ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her honor to Virginia's beloved church, First Baptist Church of Moultrie, GA.
