He was predeceased by: his parents, Doyle Thomas Boggs and Virginia Elise Garrett Boggs; his wife Sarah Alice Miller Boggs; his brothers, Billy Boggs and Roger Boggs; and his close friend Sandra Askew.
He is survived by: his children, Sherry Gurley (James) of Durham, NC and David Thomas Boggs, Jr.; his grandchildren, Sarah Ponzi, Jeffery Lampson (Windy) and Thomas "Tommy" Lampson (Elizabeth Presley); his great grandchildren, Clara Ponzi, Sofia Ponzi, Noah Lampson and Miles Lampson; and his sisters, Bonnie Edwards of Moultrie and Betty Wilson of Burlington, NC. He is also survived by several extended family members and friends.
