With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Sloan Sumner of Moultrie, Georgia, who passed away on February 3, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Ruth Sloan farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Ruth Sloan is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Sloan and Nona Mae Sloan; and her first-born Tony Ray Crosby (late Charlie Sumner). She is survived by: her daughter Teresa Rhyne (Jimmy); and her siblings, Betty Burdette, Mary Taylor, Bonnie Cwiek, Larry Sloan and Ray Sloan. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, and other extended family.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Cobb Funeral Chapel (2441 Camilla Hwy, Moultrie, GA 31768). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Calendar Cobb Funeral Chapel (2441 Camilla Hwy, Moultrie, GA 31768).
