We are sad to announce that on September 16, 2021, at the age of 100, Mary Frances Holmes Woodside of Moultrie, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her son John Hunt Holmes; her sister Dorothy Broach Thurston of Atlanta; and her nephew Jim Hunt Holmes of Columbia, TN.. She is survived by: her husband Edgar Cashion Holmes of Moultrie Georgia; her brother James Edgar; her niece Florence Dull; her stepson Buddy Parrish of Cumming, GA.; her children, James Edgar Holmes (Margaret) of Atlanta and Florence Dull Holmes (Jeff) of Roswell; her granddaughters, Sarah Elizabeth Stone Holmes of Evanston, Ill and Amanda Groover Turner (Christopher Scott Turner) of Cumming, GA.; her great grandchild Haley Rae Groover of Cumming; her stepchildren, Betsy Parrish Healy (Rob) of Ooltewah, TN. and Roy E. Parrish III (Becky) of Cumming, GA.; her nephew Curtis A. Thurston (Debbie) of Cumming; her nieces, Rhetta Thurston Morales of The Villages, Louise McCall Thurston Phillips (Deesi) of Atlanta and Maribel Holmes Montgomery of Moultrie, GA.; and also Jason Bradley Burris.

In lieu of flowers, Mary Frances requests that a Memorial Gift be made to any of the following: the Shepherd Spinal Center in Atlanta; Trinity Presbyterian Church in Atlanta; or, the Colquitt County Arts Center in Moultrie, Ga.
