He was predeceased by: his parent E. D. Barnwell; his wife Gloria Spurlock Barnwell; and his brothers, Irvin Barnwell, Melvin Barnwell and Jerrell Barnwell.
He is survived by: his parent Paulina Mock Barnwell; his daughters, DeAnna B. Watson of Moultrie, Jennifer Barnwell of Moultrie and Justin Johnson of Moultrie; his grandchildren, Austin Watson, Zachary Watson, Madison Watson, Kenna Rae Johnson, Gracie Johnson and Kyla Ann Johnson; his siblings, Sandra Saunders and Charles Barnwell of Moultrie; his sisters-in-law, Latrell Barnwell and Donna Spurlock; and his close friend Iris Williams of Moultrie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
