She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Warren L. and Lillie Mae Lawson; her husband Thomas Nelson Thomas, Sr.; her birth parents, Willie Vaster Lawson and Opal Bivins Bowles; and her brother David Hickey.

She is survived by: her children, Angela Smith (Glenn) of Moultrie, Karen Glover (John) of Moultrie, Heidi Thomas (Chuck) of Moultrie and Timothy Lance Simmons (Laurel) of Moultrie; her grandchildren, Nikki Spires, Jessica Smith, Tiffany Fox (John), Jay Powell, Levi Jones, Justin Thomas (Ivey), Shelby Thomas, Mackenzie Attebury (Colby), Lance Simmons (Kayla), Sunny Simmons, Levi Jonsgaard, Remington Simmons and Sadie Simmons; and her siblings, Dean Lawson (Judy) of Butler, GA, Jeff Burdette (Sandy) of Jacksonville, FL, Doug Burdette of Moultrie and Lecina Todd. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends.
