He was predeceased by: his parents, C. T. Phillips and Pauline Jordan Phillips; his siblings, Gerald Phillips, Jerry Phillips, Larry Phillips (Hazel) and Debbie Collier; his siblings-in-law, Buster Morgan and Kay Connell; and his niece Loretta Phillips Williams.
He is survived by: his wife Lucy Connell Phillips of Moultrie; his children, Lisa Beckham (Scott) of Valdosta and John Phillips (Carman) of Blackshear; his grandchildren, Harlie Wainright (Dawson), Kristin Jackson (Toddrick), J. Reid Phillips, Dani Beckham and Thomas "Tommy" Beckham; and his sisters, Gail Garren of Coolidge and Deanie Wilson (Danny) of Coolidge. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
