James Douglas Peters Sr. Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Cleveland Peters and Nancy Elizabeth Cooper Peters; his siblings, William Cooper Peters (Ellen) and Elizabeth Peters Hinson (Charles); and his nieces, Louise Peters Coleman and Elizabeth "Beth" Hinson.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Marie Hodges Peters of Moultrie; his sons, James Douglas "Doug" Peters, Jr. (Wendy) of Dalton and Daniel Hodges Peters (Susanne) of McDonough; his grandchildren, Brandon Peters (Nicki), Spencer Peters (Taylor), Ashleigh Peters (Andrew Johnson), Josh Peters, Will Peters (Hannah) and Ashton Peters; his great grandchildren, Hudson Peters, Caden Peters and Sophia Grace Peters; and his nieces and nephews, John C. Peters, Sr. (Debbie), Luellen Peters Tucker (Doug), Floyd B. Peters, Charles O. "Chuck" Hinson, III (Jennifer), Harry Hinson and Katie Hinson. He is also survived by several great-nieces, great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Baker Funeral Home & Crematory (2222 GA-37, Moultrie, GA 31788). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Beta Lambda House Corporation, in memory of Jim Peters, 1042 Lake Oconee Rd. Bogart, Georgia 30622.
