He was predeceased by: his parents, Theo Fredrick Causey and Dora Lee Gay Causey; his wife Billie Dean Burgess Causey; and his siblings, Elizabeth Causey Carter and Walter Lavon Causey.
He is survived by: his children, Monda Causey Mathis, Gerald Fredrick Causey (Penny) and James William Causey; and his grandchildren, Brad, Tiffany, Sarah, Ashley of Jamie, VJ and Holli. He is also survived by twenty-three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
