He was predeceased by: his parents, John Melton Hay, Sr. and Emma Roberta Barber Hay; his son Francis Marion "Buddy" Hay, Jr.; and his siblings, Ruby Elizabeth Hay Holland, Sallie Mae Hay Allen, James Edward Hay, Charlie Clinton Hay, Sr., Buelah Audrey Hay Bouche, Mattie Sue Hay Sherrill, Dorothy Isabel Hay Hayes, John Melton Hay, Jr., Jacqueline Hay Griganavicius and Harold Hardy Hay, Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Wisham Hay of Moultrie; his grandchildren, Chelsi Miller, Caylin Moen and Calais Kruse; and his daughter-in-law Debra Matthews Hay Hampton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
