She was predeceased by: her parents, George Leo Nichols and Edna Lee Murray Nichols; her husband Reverend Samuel Roger Benton; and her sisters, Odessa Carroll and Audrey Kelly.
She is survived by: her children, Valerie Benton Moore, Moultrie, Daniel Roger Benton and Alicia of Brunswick; her grandchildren, Jessica Falvai (Tim), Julia McMillan (Brian), Katie Kelly (Cole), Aaron Highsmith (Leanne), Hannah Benton and Sarah Benton; her great grandchild Harrison McMillan; her nephews, Doug Kelly (Lisa), John Carroll (Jannine) and Jeff Carroll (Margie); and her cousins, Gloria Mack, Bill and Marianna McElroy.
