He is survived by: his wife Mary Hurst of Moultrie; his children, Ollie David Hurst, Jr. (Brenda) of Moultrie and Jenna Matos (Cleyber) of Norman Park; his grandchildren, Jaycee Faye Matos, Zara Jade Hurst, Olivia Tate "Dale" Matos and Bentley Clay Matos; his mother Vearlene Harper Hurst of Norman Park; and his siblings, Leon David Hurst (Debbie), Danny Hurst (Liane), James L. Dempsey, Jr., Decker Dempsey of Norman Park and Barbara Crews (William) of Walker's Crossing. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
