He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ross Thomas, Sr. and Cora Bell Castleberry Thomas; and his son Gary Parks Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Sally Parks Thomas of Moultrie; his children, Keith Thomas (Teresa) of Warner Robins, Cheryl Thomas Willis of Moultrie and Mark Thomas (Kelli) of Moultrie; his grandchildren, Tasha (Joe Rodgers), Gary Yates, Ross Thomas (Amber), Rhett (Brook Thomas), Jaime Whitten, Rebekah (Carl Caviness), Jeremy Thomas, Holly Thomas, Richard (Nicole Willis), Amanda (Tommy Edmonds), Jerilyn (Adam Childers) and Marlie Thomas; his great grandchildren, Mia Rodgers, Evelyn Thomas, Angel Thomas, Chandler Thomas, Skylar Thomas, Daxton Whitten, Matthew Whitten, Quentin Caviness, Ezra Caviness, Kylee Willis, Jack Willis, Dawson Willis, Livi Kell Childers and Larsyn Childers; and his brothers, W. Ross Thomas, Jr. (Vivian) of Roswell and Owen Thomas of Moultrie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
