She was predeceased by: her parents, John Austen Herndon and Willie Ruth Whitfield Herndon; her former husband Ervin Elijah DeMott; her husband Joey S. Sampson; her children, Byron Scott DeMott, Dolly Rose DeMott and Pattie Alana DeMott; and her sister Wilna Herndon DeMott Rodgers.
She is survived by: her children, Marc DeMott (Sharon) of Moultrie and Gina DeMott Renner of Powder Springs, Georgia; her grandchildren, John Austen DeMott (Jane), Matthew Ervin DeMott, Taylor Alice Rains (Austin) and Jackson Scott Renner (Ariana Gil); her great grandchildren, Marc Calvin DeMott, Charles Henry DeMott and Hagen Thomas Rains; and her siblings-in-law, Rosalyn Cain, Glenda DuPree, Larry DeMott, Sr. and Roddy DeMott. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
