He was predeceased by: his parent Coleman Clay; and his siblings, Ruth Turner Knott, Carl, Harold Clay and Coleman Reese Turner.

He is survived by: his parent Nettie Roena James Turner; his wife Betty Anne Cartee Turner; his children, David Eugene Turner of Reston, Virginia and Anne Elizabeth Childs (Rand H.); and his grandsons, Ian and Ryan Childs. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
