He was predeceased by: his parents, John William Reel and Mildred Inez Nivens Reel; his wife Sandra Norton Reel; and his brother Ronnie Reel. He is survived by: his son Jeremy; his daughter-in-law Christa King of Morganton; his brother Rick Reel of Cookeville, TN; and his grandchildren, Thaddeus King, Lyla Webb and Evie Webb. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
