He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Gordon and Lillie Gordon; and his brother Thomas Warren Gordon. He is survived by: his wife Diane Gordon; and his children, LaTonia (Kyle Moncrief), Melanie Salas, Brent (Casey Pettis) and Clint (Crystal Pettis). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home (212 E College St, Jackson, GA 30233). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sherrell Memorial Chapel (212 E College St, Jackson, GA 30233). A burial was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Milledgeville (2617 Vinson Hwy, Milledgeville, GA 31061).
