Coates of Montezuma, Georgia; her daughter Marquita Brown (Charles) of Byron; her stepchildren, Stacy Brown (Nicholas) of Perry, Michael Coates (Nicole) and Reggie Harris of Oglethorpe, Georgia; her grandchildren, Marqueon Glenn, Markel Brown, Z'Khia Brown, Jayden Cotton, Kamarion West, Kanavious West, Kareem Glenn, Jr., Errion Whitfield, Miesha Coates, Zhikeer Howard, Eric Haugabook II and Tony Davis, Jr.; her siblings, Kathy Ball, Irene Cooper (Robert), Sheila Rackley, Sheryl Jenkins, James Rackley and Malcolm Shelley; her aunts, Gladys Walls, Laura Mae Burnam, Rosa Lee Clark, Evelyn Ball, Mary Kearse (David) and Carolyn Powell; and her uncle Jim Witchard. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Zion Grove Baptist Church (91 Whitehouse Rd, Montezuma, GA 31063).
