She was predeceased by: her parents, LaRue Kirkland Nickelson and Noel Jennings Nickelson. She is survived by: her husband Harry Simmons; her daughter Dominique; her son-in-law Mike Bennett; her sons, Harry Simmons II and Royce Nelson (Tracy Simmons); and her grandchildren, Harry Simmons III (Vee), Kyle Simmons (Antje), Amanda Simmons, Ashley Hall, Peyton Bennett and Rex Bennett. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.
