He is survived by: his wife Sharon Reese Cathey of Monroe; his children, Cynthia (Randy Floyd), Lori (Carlos Martinez), Renee (Curt Kersey), Ashley Cotton (Jake Bagwell) and JohnPaul "Alex" Cathey of Monroe; his grandchildren, Chris Martinez, Zach Ritterling, Freya Ritterling, Matthew Martinez, Addison Ritterling, Micah Cotton, Maddox Cotton and Emilee Bagwell; and his brother Ed (Janice Cathey).
