It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jay Yates of Monroe, Georgia, born in Crawfordsville, Indiana, who passed away on November 15, 2022, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Johnnie Legier Yates I (John); his former wife Debbie Yarbrough; his daughter Jennifer Owen Yates; his wife Jennifer Yates; and his brothers-in-law, Steve Payne and Craig Mitchem.

He is survived by: his mother Verla Snelling (Taylor) of Crawfordsville, IN; his children, Jessica Yates and Johnnie Yates of Jacksonville, FL.; his stepdaughter Mandy Williams (Zack) of Monroe, GA; his sisters, Tammy Anders of Easley, SC, Tina Payne and Tracy Haslam (Jim) of Crawfordsville, IN; his brother-in-law Dave Yarbrough (Michelle); his parents-in-law, Helen and Carl Yarbrough; and his grandson Wyatt. He is also survived by 6 nieces, 2 nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
