He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Cawley and Rachel Moon Witcher; and his sister Shirley Shelnutt. He is survived by: his wife Betty Witcher of Milledgeville; his daughters, Teresa, James "Chip" Johnson of Milledgeville, Karen, Ned Couch of Mansfield, Gena and Brian Morris of McDonough; and his brother-in-law Virginia. He is also survived by 8 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren; Sister.
