Gene T. Shumate Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gene T. Shumate (Monroe, Georgia). Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sara Sanders Shumate and Grover Shumate; and his sisters, Helen Eason and Mary Jo Shumate. He is survived by: his wife Mary Shumate; his son Barry Shumate (Kim); his grandchildren, Morgan Schenk (Robert) and Nicholas Shumate (Kylie); and his siblings, Margaret Harris, Elizabeth Moon, Dorothy Needham and Jessie Shumate.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 13th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Meadows Funeral Home (760 State Hwy 11, Monroe, GA 30655). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Harmony Baptist Church (1310 Harmony Church Rd, Monroe, GA 30655).
