He is survived by: his wife Judy Herndon of Monroe; his children, Regina Guthrie, Pam Smith, Tammy Kelley, Wallace G. Herndon, Jr. and John W. Herndon, III; and his sister Virginia Talley. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
