He was predeceased by: his parents, Sarah Hazel Hardman Smith and Henry Ford Smith. He is survived by: his wife Kitty Taylor Smith; and his sons, Barry (Nancy Palmer, Jr.), Adam (Amanda Palmer) and Michael (Candace Smith). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
